Welcome to Zonta Club of Berkeley

North Bay and Beyond

Serving the San Francisco Bay Area

Chartered in 1936

Our members are women from many different backgrounds. What they have in common is a dedication to working together to advance the status of women by empowering women and girls through advocacy and volunteer service in our local communities and throughout the world.

Our members work to improve the quality of life for women through fundraising, charitable giving and by recognizing outstanding community members through scholarships and awards. We also help charitable and not-for-profit organizations with service grants.

The club is a member of the powerful organization

 Zonta International,

a global human rights organization founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York. Early Zontians paved the way for women to be educated, take on non-traditional roles and have the same opportunities as men.

Today, the Zonta Club of Berkeley/North Bay and Beyond continues on that mission. Simply put that missions is

Zonta says YES to gender equality

Zonta says NO to violence against women

Zonta International has over 1200 clubs in over 60 countries with nearly 30,000 members.

There are 31 districts around the world. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area we are a member of District9.

"Zontians" volunteer their time, talents and support to local and international service projects to help advance the status of women worldwide. Zonta International, its districts and its clubs are nonsectarian and nonpartisan.

Zonta International has operational relations with the

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
